Job Description
Allentown Company is seeking a Full-Time CNC Operator, Monday through Friday, first shift with OT as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up and perform operations on the CNC Lathe, CNC Mill, and CNC Band Saw to specifications of work orders and instructions.
- Safely operate overhead crane and forklift.
- Operate additional smaller machines in the department as needed.
- Utilize measuring devices to ensure operations are run within the required tolerances.
- Follow all safety rules regarding machine operation, proper guarding, and machine safety.
- Work to a high level of accuracy and perform inspection of work through each step in the process.
- Complete work assignments as assigned by Department Supervisor.
- Must cooperate with other employees in the department to maintain a safe working environment.
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the department to include but not limited to safety toe shoes, safety glasses, and ear plugs.
- Maintain workplace in a neat and orderly condition on a daily basis, and performs a general machine and work area cleanup once a week.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- The employee must continually lift, push/pull, carry and/or move material of varying weight. Occasionally required to lift, push/pull, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally required to kneel, bend, balance, stoop, or crawl.
- Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach, and bend.
- Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision, Normal color vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to work overtime if needed.
Qualifications:
- High School
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must be a U. S. citizen, or lawful permanent resident of the U. S.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience as a machine operator or completion of vocational technical school training program preferred but not required.
- Attention to detail.
- High quality control standards.
- Problem solving skills and reasonable mechanical aptitude.
