Welder jobs in New Jersey

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• To set up and adjust drum body welder, flanger, swedger and corrugator to correct settings.
• To oil and grease on specified daily / weekly schedule.
• To check steel size and thickness of raw materials used on every bundle.
• To check quality of weld, flange, swedge and corrugator frequently.
• To change over three machines to produce different drums, as dictated by scheduled requirements.
• To carry out minor maintenance overhauls and parts changes.
• To count and report scrap body sheets.
• To keep work station clean and tidy.
• To fill out production reports as required.
• To carry out other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
• Will assist the company in maintaining and improving efficiencies.
• Will ensure all Quality requirements are met.
• Will participate in Lean and MPS initiatives.

MINIMUM COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS :

Education / Skill

Grade 12 High School

Work Experience

• Proven mechanical ability
• Understanding quality procedures

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work with weights up to 50lb, lifting heavy and bulky objects.
• Safety equipment is provided by the company.
• Requires good eye / hand / foot coordination.
• Good visual acuity cannot be color blind.
• Ability to operate a forklift safely to eliminate personal injury and material damage.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work in cold, heat and dusty environment; includes occasional work outside in the elements.
• Ability to safely operate small hand tools.
