Volunteer Coordinator supervises and leads the daily undertakings of a volunteer program to attract, inspire, train, and deploy volunteers. Leads the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of volunteer workers. Being a Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for training and educating volunteers. Motivates and inspires volunteers to encourage teamwork. Additionally, Volunteer Coordinator evaluates and reviews volunteer schedules and makes adjustments as necessary. Ensures that the activities of the volunteer workers meet the needs of the organization. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Volunteer Coordinator supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Position Objective
This position provides coordination of volunteer services for Catholic Charities of Kansas City-St. Joseph as a means of engaging the community, fulfilling client and agency needs, and supporting the agency’s efforts to generate financial, in-kind, and human resources for the benefit of Catholic Charities of Kansas City-St. Joseph. This is a full-time, 38-hour per week job, Monday thru Thursday, 8:00 am to 5:30 pm. Our offices are closed every Friday. However, this position will require flexible scheduling to accommodate events some evenings and weekends. The salary for this position will be $42,000-$45,000, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications.
