The Video Editor mixes and masters audio. Edits video footage to desired length and format, creates motion graphics, and completes color corrections. Being a Video Editor archives and stores all files, footage, graphics, and audio. Encodes final videos to desired size and format. In addition, Video Editor proficient using Adobe Creative suite and production software including After Effects and Final Cut and other editing software. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Being a Video Editor gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. The Middle East Broadcasting Networks, Inc. (MBN) is seeking a creative Video Editor for our Broadcast Operations team at our offices in Springfield, VA. The Video Editor is responsible for editing news and programming for MBN as assigned. They are also responsible for editing social media and acquired programs as assigned. They will provide creative expertise on projects. They will interface with producers, writers, and other creative and technical staff to provide creative and technical input as needed to facilitate and expedite completion of video content.
Candidates are required to have:- 5 years experience in a news or deadline driven program editing environment.
- 5 years experience with Premier Pro, After Effects and Photoshop.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize extensive journalistic judgement and knowledge of production techniques while maintaining high technical and editorial standards, especially editing field shows and documentaries.
- Demonstrate storytelling ability through editing.
- Ability to speak and read Arabic is highly desirable.
