  • Job Title: Senior Procurement and Vendor Relations Specialist

    Overview: As the Senior Procurement and Vendor Relations Specialist at BSC Industries, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing company profitability and customer satisfaction by optimizing procurement processes and vendor relationships. Leveraging your expertise in negotiations and vendor management, you will ensure timely material acquisition at the lowest cost while maintaining high-quality standards. In addition to “hands on” procurement activity, this position requires strategic analysis of vendor pricing trends and sales activities to make informed purchasing decisions and achieve cost savings. Additionally, you will coordinate vendor activities, facilitate returns, and continuously improve inventory management practices.

    Key Responsibilities:

    · Strategic Purchasing: Issue purchase orders promptly to meet or exceed customer delivery requirements, ensuring efficient material procurement.

    · Vendor Coordination: Coordinate vendor activities and negotiations, establishing open communication channels to foster strong, mutually beneficial relationships.

    · Supplier Evaluation: Evaluate existing and potential suppliers, recommending and implementing changes as needed to optimize vendor relationships.

    · Product Recommendations: Recommend and support products and brands that align with BSC's partnerships and authorized distributor status.

    · Price Analysis: Analyze vendor pricing trends and sales activities to determine the optimal timing for purchases, maximizing cost savings opportunities.

    · Cost Optimization: Negotiate with vendors to attain the lowest cost on each purchased item, leveraging quantity discounts and exploring alternative products.

    · Inventory Management: Utilize the min/max system to maintain efficient inventory levels, monitoring, adjusting levels based on changing customer demand and managing vendor returns.

    · Freight Management: Minimize incoming freight charges by utilizing freight-free plans, selecting appropriate carriers, and optimizing shipping methods.

    · Professional Communication: Maintain a professional image and open lines of communication with vendor representatives, fostering positive vendor relationships.

    · Purchasing Initiatives: serve as a subject matter expert throughout the company, leading best practices at BSC Industries.

    · Participate in other Purchasing / Supply Chain activities as needed.


    Job Requirements:

    · Demonstrated success in negotiating cost savings and rebates.

    · Experience developing and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives.

    · Exceptional negotiation, communication (verbal and written), and analytical skills.

    · Demonstrated success in managing inventory, including auditing, forecasting, and planning.

    · Strong judgment, and ability to make business decisions based on data analysis

    · Ability to manage time effectively, adapt to changing priorities, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

    · High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ethical standards.

    · Experience in Industrial Distribution preferred.

    · Proficiency in Profit 21 (P21) ERP system and excel preferred.

    · Bachelor’s or associate degree preferred.

    · Minimum 5 years in a similar position.
