Trust Operations Officer directs the work of Trust Operations team in large and complex trust operations. Ensures that transactions are balanced and documented according to policies and procedures. Being a Trust Operations Officer oversees the input and maintenance of data in accounting systems and report generation. Coordinates the processing of dividends and disbursements. Additionally, Trust Operations Officer may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Trust Operations Officer manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Trust Operations Officer typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Responsible for the administration of trust and investment agency accounts. Identify and develop new business opportunities.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties :
- Communicate with grantors and beneficiaries on a regular basis in order to develop and maintain positive relationships.
- Review account balance sheets and consult with trust investment officer regularly to monitor account holdings.
- Review daily activity in accounts to insure accuracy and monitor cash balances in order to provide for liquidity needs.
- Attend Trust Committee meetings.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with bank officers and legal and accounting professionals.
- Project and maintain the bank’s professional image.
- Maintain a current knowledge of trust and investment laws and regulations.
- Assume responsibility for related duties as required and assigned.
- Keep management aware of activities, opportunities and problems
Qualifications :
Education / Certification : Bachelors Degree (B.B.A.) in Accounting or Finance or Law Degree or equivalent on the job training and experience in a relevant field.
Required Knowledge : Windows XP, Microsoft Excel and Word. Superior written, verbal and communication skills. Strong logic, reasoning, and analytical skills.
Skills / Abilities : Advanced organizational and interpersonal skills required. Attention to detail with high degree of accuracy at all times.
Complete confidentiality required. Highest degree of ethical standards required.
Experience Required : Minimum of three to five years trust or related experience.
Hours : Monday - Friday 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM.
40 hours per week.
