Travel Manager directs the operation of the company's travel services. Administers and monitors the travel policies, guidelines, and budget to deliver efficient travel arrangements. Being a Travel Manager prepares periodic budget and utilization reports. Provides guidance to employees about travel requirements including visa, medical, and special conditions. Additionally, Travel Manager may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Travel Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Travel Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     This is a hybrid role based in our Atlanta, Georgia office with flexibility for homeworking, so you must live within a commutable distance.

    Sitting under the Destination Sport Group, our Travel Managers work alongside our Team Travel Managers to assist professional sports teams with all their travel requirements. Our attention to detail ensures all aspects of the teams travel are meticulously planned and booked. Our clients benefit by being looked after by individuals that have worked alongside various professional sports clubs for many years. They bring learnings achieved whilst working with one club to resolve a problem that may adversely affect another. We say with confidence that there are not many scenarios that at least one of the team has not come against in the past.From complex movement schedules on a multi destination pre/post season tour, to world tournaments and mid-season training camps, we’re on hand throughout to ensure all are delivered to the highest standards.

    No two days are the same in this exciting role, but as our new Travel Manager you will:

    • Manage all team travel both in the US and overseas for allocated teams
    • Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers on behalf of allocated teams
    • Manage day to day relationships with assigned teams, identifying opportunities to increase revenue
    • Raise invoices promptly
    • Protect business cashflow
    • Oversee team operations in person and / or remotely as required
    • Accurately process data to ensure compliance with data security standards
    • Help and support in minimising or eradicating the harm our business operations inevitably inflicts on the environment
    • Input data into internal systems and maintaining accuracy through completion dates
    • Ensure responsive communication (follow up & follow through) with colleagues, clients and suppliers
    • Support colleagues & wider team as / when required
    • Travel in the US and oversees as/when required

    • Has a high level of accountability & takes ownership of tasks
    • Has the ability to work both collaboratively & independently
    • Is computer literate with experience of Microsoft office
    • Has excellent customer service skills
    • Must be able to travel in the US and overseas
    • Having experience working with professional sports teams and/or the travel industry would be highly advantageous
    • A willingness to work untraditional business hours, which may include after-hours and/or weekends is essential for this role
