We are looking for ASL interpreter both in person and remote.

As an ASL Interpreter, you will play a crucial role in facilitating communication between individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing and others within correctional settings. Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing accurate and effective interpretation services during various interactions, including medical appointments, counseling sessions, educational programs, and other institutional activities.
• Translating spoken language into ASL and vice versa to ensure clear and understandable communication for all parties involved.
• Adhering to professional standards and ethical guidelines for interpreting, including maintaining confidentiality and neutrality.
• Collaborating with correctional staff, healthcare professionals, and other personnel to ensure smooth communication and effective service delivery.
• Adapting interpretation techniques to meet the diverse needs of individuals with varying levels of ASL proficiency and communication preferences.
• Maintaining accurate records of interpreted sessions and reporting any issues or concerns to the appropriate authorities.

Job Type: Freelance

Pay: From $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 – 20 per week
