Job Summary:
We are currently seeking an experienced Traffic Control Flagger, Traffic Control Technician, or Traffic Control Supervisor to join our team. As a Traffic Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient flow of traffic at construction sites and roadwork zones. Your primary responsibility will be to direct and control the movement of vehicles and pedestrians, ensuring their safety and adherence to traffic regulations.
Duties:
- Set up traffic control devices, such as cones, signs, and barricades, to guide vehicles and pedestrians safely through work zones
- Direct traffic using hand signals, flags, or two-way radios
- Monitor traffic flow and adjust control measures as needed to ensure smooth traffic movement
- Coordinate with construction crews and other personnel to ensure safe working conditions
- Provide clear instructions to drivers and pedestrians regarding detours or alternate routes
- Maintain accurate records of traffic control activities and report any incidents or violations
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Traffic Controller or similar role is required
- Knowledge of traffic control procedures, regulations, and best practices
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Excellent communication skills to effectively direct traffic and interact with drivers and pedestrians
- Strong attention to detail and ability to remain focused in high-pressure situations
