Reviews insurance applications written by AAA Northeast Insurance Agents for compliance with club and insurance company underwriting guidelines; accepts or rejects exceptions based upon risk assessment; monitors activities of customer service representatives for effective policy administration; makes decisions and exercises authority to resolve member issues, utilizing Five Diamond Service Standards.

What you will do:

• Reviews insurance applications written by club insurance agents to determine quality and appropriateness of underwriting, ensuring club agency underwriting guidelines are administered at all times; contacts individual agents for correction of errors; explains policies to facilitate understanding with insurance staff of club and underwriting policies.
• Analyzes risk for various exceptions forwarded by Branch Insurance Agents; researches accounts and gathers all pertinent information to determine appropriateness of underwriting; prepares communication piece to agent and insurer to explain underwriting action. Builds strong relationships with insurance carrier underwriters; contacts carrier underwriters to request exceptions to underwriting guidelines when warranted.
• Identifies need for revisions in club underwriting guidelines; researches market trends and makes recommendations to insurance management; may recommend updates to Club Insurance Agency procedures.
• Works closely with Agency management and supervisors while monitoring quality of insurance activity; identifies trends in individual performance and makes recommendations to management for corrective action; spot checks work produced and records quality and errors for use in determining incentive pay.
• Monitors servicing department's compliance with Five Diamond Service Standards and agency guidelines and procedures; makes recommendations to leadership and Learning & Development regarding training requirements
• Provides technical assistance to insurance staff, may make decisions to handle unique circumstances and resolve client complaints. Presents contested coverage situations to insurance carriers for their review to obtain agency accommodations when appropriate. Provides support to Training Specialist in new hire underwriting training and offers expertise in other areas of training staff as well.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Education
Bachelor's Degree with three years' experience in insurance industry Required or six years' of additional insurance experience

Experience

Complete familiarity with personal lines coverage Required

Licenses and Certifications

Property and Casualty Producer's License Required and Insurance designation Preferred

The pay range for this position in Rhode Island is $49,000 to $55,000. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Annual bonuses are offered to employees and certain roles are eligible to earn additional forms of compensation through monthly and/or quarterly incentives.
