The Role
This Role will be the lead product manager for our annuity and insurance platform as part of a highly collaborative, cross-functional team committed to improving the value of our platform within Fidelity Institutional (FI). Annuities are an important component of our existing product offering within the IWMS business, and this role will lead the effort to deliver this world-class, scalable, integrated platform to our bank and broker dealer clients as well as continue to explore the expansion to our fee-based RIA clients. The FI Insurance and Annuity platform is comprised of multiple vendors coupled with industry standard processes and features account opening, in-force transactions, posting of annuity data to Fidelity systems, processing and pass through of commission and fee payments and reporting on the full spectrum of products our clients use. You will be responsible for the strategic vision of the platform and ensuring it meets the day to day needs of our current and future clients.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Bachelors degree (or its equivalent).
Required minimum of 8-10 years of experience with annuities, insurance products and the respective marketplace (specifically the insurance carrier or distributer side).
Additional experience in the larger financial services and/or brokerage technology a plus.
Experience within an agile business and development model.
A proven track record of delivering a product from inception through market launch by identifying needs and solutions while crafting and sharing the vision with internal partners and clients.
The ability to quantify success by comparing market results with the initial strategic vision and course correct as needed.
A history of defining priorities based on business needs and critical metrics and providing clear readouts to senior management on progress.
Possess a strong technical knowledge of the underpinnings of the annuity marketplace and technology as well as product and project management experience.
Demonstrated experience working in a vendor-integrated model with vendor management as a primary focus.
Entrepreneurial drive—must be a self-starter and a critical problem solver with attention to detail coupled with the ability to work in a fast-paced and innovative work environment.
Strong presentation and writing skills.

Must have your FINRA Series 99 and 7, or willingness to acquire within a prescribed period of time. Series 6 license supported.
Participation in or working knowledge of insurance and annuity industry boards such as DTCC Advisory Board, Insured Retirement Institute, etc. as well as an understanding of their role within the industry.
Lead the efforts for the development and communication of our next generation life and annuity product strategy as well as owning the existing platform offering.
Manage the vendor community that underpins this offering and ensure they deliver best in class products and services to our clients.
Interact regularly with decision makers in the Fidelity Institutional brokerage businesses, sales and relationship managers, and internal and external business partners.
Provide strategic oversight of the offering to ensure it continues to exceed client demand while remaining a profitable enterprise for Fidelity.
The Team
This dynamic group is part of the Funds Network and FI Product Business Unit within the Fidelity Institutional segment. This team works closely with members of the Client Experience, Relationship Management, Sales, and Operations teams within the Funds and Brokerage Operations & Technology segment to understand the marketplace needs that will help prioritize product requirements, development and deployment plans and to help ensure an optimal experience during client on-boarding. Our greatest asset is our ability to work under tight deadlines and respond quickly to client inquiries and requests with subject matter expertise, professionalism and operational excellence. The Annuity team is one group within the larger Product Team that also supports Retirements, HSAs, Personal Trust and Institutional Custody.
