University, OVCIA, and Unit Advancement Alignment
• Lead initiatives aligning and leveraging relevant university system resources, support services, and infrastructure to best effectuate the advancement strategic priorities of the OVCIA, the university, and all units.
• Oversee OVCIA People & Culture internal communications initiatives to ensure that advancement policies, procedures, processes, strategies, goals, priorities, and initiatives are documented, shared, understood, and consistently applied across the university.
• Develop and implement protocols for the secure and accurate capture, management, retrieval, and use of Illinois Advancement employee records.
Advancement Workplace Culture
• Lead the integration of Illinois Advancement’s values and culture with daily practices and decision-making.
• In partnership and coordination with the OVCDEI, champion DEI initiatives aimed at fostering an open and inclusive workplace.
• Regularly assess organizational culture, working with colleagues to run surveys and focus groups to ensure values are being lived, not just stated, and creating and implementing responsive actions as needed.
OVCIA Lead for Budget and Human Resources
• Serve as OVCIA budget officer, responsible for fiscal management and administration of OVCIA and unit funds, and as point-of-contact with the Office of the Provost, UIF, and University of Illinois Alumni Association (UIAA) on all budgetary matters. Provide leadership and advice in the development and implementation of financial policies and long-range financial planning.
• Lead the development of the OVCIA’s annual budget for both the university and the University of Illinois Foundation (UIF). Use relevant university and UIF system software, platforms, and processes to initiate and complete budget development for both the university and UIF. Create budget reports, cost of fundraising reports, and other budget documents as needed.
• Working closely with IHR, oversee the implementation and compliance of all relevant laws, regulations, and University policies related to advancement operations and initiatives, including serving as the point person for OVCIA employee relations matters.
