ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
The WV Foster Adoptive & Kinship Parents Network (‘The Network’), founded in 2018, provides peer support, training, and advocacy for caregivers involved in West Virginia’s child welfare system. The Network encompasses a community of caregivers who provide peer support through group discussions and a private Facebook group, hosts an annual conference, and advocates for key pieces of legislation. Current funding comes from private foundations located in West Virginia and some conference sponsorships. Staff consists of a full-time Executive Director and part-time contractors providing accounting, communications, and event support.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Network seeks new administrative leadership [independent contractor, admin management entity, or Executive Director (ED) applicant] to continue this crucial work and advance the organization to the next level. This position will raise funds and write grants for salaries and operating costs and work with the board to develop and execute a strategic plan.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ø A passion for improving West Virginia’s child welfare system for all families, children, and youth.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ø New leadership ideally would have experience regarding management, funding, and laws in a nonprofit organization, prior experience working with the West Virginia legislature, and professional experience in areas such as budget development & management, employee and/or contractor management, advocacy and/or policy analysis, fundraising, and strong oral and written communication skills to explain complex ideas and information to people with limited subject knowledge or experience.
Ø Master’s Degree in a related field --or-- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of two years of directly relevant experience
Ø Direct experience with the child welfare system may supplant or augment education requirements.
SALARY & BENEFITS:
Salary range: $52,000 to $65,000 per year. Salaried staff benefits include allotment for health & dental insurance, retirement, and leave time. Flexible schedule and professional development opportunities available.
