    As a Labor Management Relations Examiner (Field Examiner) GS- 0244-9, your typical work assignments may include:

    • Preparing election agreements and/or stipulations for an election;
    • Investigating challenged ballots or objections to a representation election;
    • Conducting administrative hearings to develop a record in pre and post-election settings to resolve unit placement, voting eligibility, and conduct of election issues; and
    • Analyzing issues to resolve questions concerning the appropriateness of a bargaining unit in representation cases and to resolve challenge ballots and objectives.

    IDEAL CANDIDATE STATEMENT
    The ideal candidate is interested in seeking employment pursuing compliance with the National Labor Relations Act. The candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills, have strong research and analytical skills, and be interested in interacting with members of the public.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    To be qualified for this position at the GS-09 level, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of a Labor Management Relations Examiner at the GS-09. Specialized experience includes:
    • Completing legal research, interviewing witnesses, preparing sworn statements, reviewing and analyzing documentary evidence; and
    • Drafting appropriate recommendations for disposition of unfair labor practice charges, and negotiating and drafting settlement agreements; and
    • Preparing election agreements and/or stipulations for an election, conducts official elections.
    OR

    Education: master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree orLL.B. or J.D., if related. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

    Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
