    Primary Responsibilities:

    The Executive Director of Employee Relations Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of employee relations within the organization. This position reports to the Senior VP of Human Resources Operations and Business Partnerships and plays a crucial role in maintaining a positive and productive work environment while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The role will serve as a member of the Human Resources Senior Leadership Team (HRSLT) to establish short and long-term people strategies and goals for Las Vegas and regional properties. The ED of Employee Relations Operations will work closely with business leaders to ensure employee relations programs are aligned with the organizational culture and business needs. Additionally, the role will establish, implement, evaluate, and revise legally compliant human resources strategies, policies, procedures, and best practices. The ED of Employee Relations Operations will also provide guidance, coaching, and support to property leaders, group human resources leaders, and property human resources teams.

    • Develops the national Employee Relations strategy, promoting a positive working environment, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations nationally.

    • Leads the execution of the employee relations process and practices, providing regular advice, consultation, and guidance to managers and employees.

    • Delivers and ensures appropriate responses to any related employment issues that arise.

    • Advises senior leadership, management, and employees regarding compliance with MGM Resorts International policies and procedures, union collective bargaining agreements, and federal/state/local law and regulations in relation to employment relations.

    • Leads a national team of high-performing employee relations professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities across all time zones.

    • By leading a national team of experts in their field, this role will lead a seamless and cohesive approach to policy administration, disciplinary procedures, and employee separations to confirm the prompt resolution of issues.

    • Builds a consistent approach to documenting, tracking and monitoring matters handled by Employee Relations to enable analytic review of matters to manage risk and improve employee experience.

    • Monitors and analyzes trends in employee and management activity, employment legislation, and labor market conditions nationally, and provide strategic recommendations to mitigate potential risks.

    • Presents and generates reports for Business Leaders to assess Employee Relations metrics and propose actionable insights.

    • Actively partners with property HR Partners to manage matters and identify business risks and trends.

    • Builds and foster strong partnership with relevant stakeholders across the enterprise by providing expert advice and guidance on MGM Resorts International employee relations policies and procedures, regulatory compliance, collective bargaining agreements, and labor laws.

    • Identifies and anticipates stakeholder needs whilst applying a neutral perspective to solve problems that drive appropriate solutions in a timely manner while monitoring the costs and operational aspects of legal requirements.

    • Partners with the Legal Team, preparing for and attending mediations, arbitrations, and other court proceedings as needed.

    • Manage MGM Resorts accommodation processes, ensuring confidentiality, accessibility, and inclusivity for all employees.

    • Ensures compliance with labor and employment laws, regulations, and policies; monitors changes in legislation and implements necessary policies.

    • In collaboration with legal counsel, establish and administers processes to investigate and address complaints in accordance with regulatory and contractual requirements

    • Assists in defending the organization in third-party actions, such as EEO charges, ADA, FLSA, and FMLA complaints, under counsel's direction.

    • Work closely with labor relations to ensure that multiple collective bargaining agreements are accurately and appropriately interpreted and applied.

    • Under the guidance of legal counsel and labor relations, assist in conducting activities essential to defending the organization in labor arbitrations, Alternative Dispute Resolutions, and during mediation.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

    • 4 years of prior relevant experience
