Position: Executive Director for the Phillips Area Chamber of Commerce (PACC)
Reports to: PACC Board of Directors
Job Overview: The Executive Director must establish a good relationship with members and execute activities that promote the business community. The Executive Director must also establish a good working relationship with the Board of Directors. The Executive Director is responsible for all Chamber activities, i.e., marketing, event planning, financial management, promotional activities, area tourism efforts and maintenance of the Chamber office. Responsibilities and Duties
· Create a relationship with existing and potential members
· Prepare meetings of the Board of Directors
· Supervise the planning and execution of chamber events
· Organize and maintain the Chamber office with literature, etc.
· Maintain financial records; A/R & A/P; tax deposits, payroll, bank reconciliations
· Establish marketing for events and other Chamber activities (television and radio promotions, create newspaper articles and advertisements)
· Greet visitors and reply to visitors’ request for information
· Solicit memberships with new and existing businesses
· Oversee area tourism efforts
Qualifications
A successful candidate should have the following preferable qualifications:
· Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in marketing,
· Associate degree in human resources
· Associate degree in accounting
Additional qualifications:
· High School diploma (mandatory)
· Experience with membership practices
· Experience in creating and/or executing large and small events
· Basic bookkeeping skills
· Social media skills
· Computer skills (basic programs, Microsoft suite and website management)
· Supervisory experience
· Reliable transportation
The Executive Director must be able to create good relationships with members, reaching out to find ways for the Chamber to help members be successful. The Director is required to be organized, efficient, creative, and innovative.
