    Job Summary and Qualifications

    The Director, Simulation and Technology is responsible for all simulation and technology based education within the Division Clinical Education Service Line. This includes creating a shared programmatic vision in the planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating simulation based learning across the continuum from standardized patients through high-fidelity simulators. This position will be knowledgeable and forward thinking with regard to emerging innovations in the fields of education, healthcare, and technology.

    • Monitors our simulation and education based technologies to ensure that practices or operations with reference to laws, regulations, guidelines, or industry practices to assess compliance, risk, or exposure.
    • Establishes staffing requirements to ensure appropriate staff to support the mission and vision of the simulation program.
    • Collaborates with various corporate, division, and hospital personnel to maintain accreditation standards of the Joint Commission, Medicare, Medicaid and similar organizations through the use of simulation and technology based education.
    • Utilizes evidence-based simulation models to design, implement, evaluate, and standardize educational programs for staff in the use of clinical simulation, debriefing and assessment.
    • Ensures instruction is consistent with national professional standards for clinical practice
    • Institutes continuous quality improvement strategies for simulation program improvement
    • Establishes expectations and accountability for delivery of services and practices that create a patient-centered organization, driven by customer feedback and data.
    • Evolves and standardizes best practices, improves and enhances the patient experience, and drives out variations in operations and in care through the use of simulation and technology based education
    • Contributes and works toward companywide improvement in meeting core measures, patient safety, and service excellence goals through simulation and technology based education.
    • Provides leadership for overall accountability of the Simulation Center to include financial, business development, and clinical activities in accordance with the strategic goals of the organization.
    • Provides leadership for day to day operations of the Simulation Center
    • Understands adult educational theory and able to apply to the development of educational programs and clinical simulation experiences
    • Demonstrates an understanding and ability to apply evaluation methodologies, (i.e., Kirkpatrick) into courses and curriculum to refine clinical programs and clinical simulation.
    • Ability to travel 25% of the time.

    Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree In Nursing; based on experience will consider a Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is highly preferred. Required
    • Master's degree In Nursing; based on experience will consider a Master’s degree in healthcare related field. Preferred
    • 3 years of experience in working in a simulation lab with simulation software; ability to evaluate outcomes and implementation of innovative simulation-based education and training programs, or an equivalent combination of training and experience: previous healthcare leadership role. Required

    Licenses, Certifications & Training:

    • If a Registered Nurse, currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) in which he or she practices, in accordance with law and regulation. Required
    • BCLS Required
    • ACLS (This is required if the Director is the designated as the leader of the AHA training center) Preferred

    • Certification in simulation training. Preferred
