Overview

The loan processor plays a crucial role in facilitating the loan application process for credit union members. They are responsible for ensuring that all necessary documents are promptly received and processed, while effectively communicating expectations with members. Additionally, they have the opportunity to cross-sell credit union products and services based on the loan information gathering during the application process. Collaborating with loan officers and other team members, the loan processor ensures accurate and complete loan documentation, while prioritizing a member-driven and frictionless experience.

Responsibilities

• Process, fund and disburse loan applications by actively interacting with members. This includes obtaining, analyzing, and clearing all necessary supporting documentation required to satisfy loan approval stipulations, preparing loan closing documents, delivering loan closing disclosures, and booking loans into core.
• Handle incoming phone calls from the lending department and provide prompt and professional assistance to members. This includes addressing inquiries related to loan leads, pre-approvals, and any other loan-related questions or concerns.
• Set proper expectations with the member to ensure all necessary documents are sent/received in a timely manner. Once received, assist with preparing and/or reviewing all loan documents for accuracy. Scan into proper lending files, if necessary, prepare release of collateral, payoff requests, and other misc. clerical functions as directed by Manager.
• Cross sell credit union products and services to members where appropriate based on information gathered within the credit report, or within the member interview, i.e., mortgage, consumer loans, i.e., fixed home equity and HELOC, payment protection products, GAP, Mechanical Breakdown, deposit products, etc.
• Collaborate with loan officers and other team members to ensure accurate and complete loan documentation.
• Work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced team environment focused on offering the best lending solutions for our membership. Be member focused and aim to provide a frictionless process and great member experience.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory training programs, including but not limited to Information Security, Bank Secrecy Act, Office of Foreign Asset Control Program and Customer Identification Program.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of similar or related experience.
• A high school education or GED.
• Must have good oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and related Office applications.
• Knowledge of secondary market products, standards and services and loan operating systems used in a financial environment required.
• Discussions with credit union members involve a high degree of confidentiality and discretion, diplomacy and tact in communication.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $48,000.00 per year
