Job Summary: An Insurance Account Manager plays a crucial role in the insurance industry by managing and maintaining relationships with existing clients, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring the overall success of their book of business. They act as a liaison between clients and insurance companies, providing expert advice on insurance products and services to meet their clients’ unique needs. This position reports to the Agency Director. Responsibilities: Maintain and grow client relationships: Build strong relationships with clients through regular communication, understanding their risk management needs, and providing tailored solutions. Identify new business opportunities: Proactively seek out new business opportunities by networking, and leveraging existing relationships. Understand client needs: Assess clients’ risk management requirements and recommend appropriate insurance products and services to meet their needs. Renewal processing: Manage the renewal process for existing policies, ensuring accurate data entry, pricing analysis, and timely issuance of renewals. Policy servicing: Handle policy changes, endorsements, cancellations, and other policy-related tasks efficiently and effectively. Sales support: Collaborate with sales teams to generate new business leads and support the sales process by providing product expertise and market knowledge. Compliance: Ensure all transactions comply with relevant regulations, company policies, and ethical standards. Data analysis: Utilize data analytics tools to identify trends in client behavior, market conditions, and industry risks to inform strategic decision-making. Client education: Provide ongoing education to clients about their insurance coverage options and help them understand the implications of various choices on their risk management strategies. Collaboration with underwriting teams: Work closely with underwriting teams to ensure accurate pricing for new business opportunities based on risk assessment data provided by the account manager’s analysis of client information. Continuous learning: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulatory changes, product offerings, and company initiatives to provide expert advice to clients and maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace. Teamwork: Collaborate with internal teams such as underwriting, claims processing, marketing, IT support staff to ensure efficient operations within your organization or brokerage firm.
