SUMMARY:

The Tool and Die Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and directing the tool and die department within the facility to improve day to day die sustaining activities, driving continuous improvements, while meeting quality and safety standards. The Tool and Die Supervisor will ensure the success in building and repairing all types of dies, fixtures, and special machine assemblies.

Essential Functions:

• Manage effectiveness of all tool room employees. This includes EDM, CNC Operators, and Machinists.
• Partner with appropriate departments to support new tooling builds, new product launches, and the day to day needs of the organization.
• Develop and monitor improvement activities with accordance to the KPI’s of the facility and tooling department.
• Monitors and strategically manages assigned expense budgets.
• Oversees the tool life process and make recommendations for end of life replacements.
• Manage the critical tooling spares listing and inventory using the ABC methodology.
• Actively manage the apprenticeship program.
• Collaborate with the local career centers and high schools to recruit potential candidates for apprenticeships.
• Coordinate with outside vendors and service providers.
• Develop plans to maintain, rebuild, and upgrade tool room equipment.
