Test Engineer interacts with other engineering groups to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for products, systems, components, or modifications. Identifies functional problems and suggests resolutions. Being a Test Engineer assists in the definition of internal quality control standards and the maintenance of reliability programs. Documents and analyzes test cases and provides regular progress reports. Additionally, Test Engineer ensures testing procedures are in compliance with any required industry specific standards. Requires a bachelor's degree of Engineering. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Test Engineer works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Role Summary:
Interacts with Assembly Personnel globally in all matters relating to the testing of electric actuation products during the entire production process including production of components at suppliers, required testing during assembly, and final test. Tasks include but are not limited to: troubleshooting, coaching, process development, training, maintenance, and calibration. Facilitates knowledge transfer between Engineering Groups, Management, and Assembly Personnel. Works with the Test Engineers to develop and deploy testing solutions to improve product quality and speed production.
Responsibilities:- Build, Maintain, Manage, and Continuously Improve all Production Test Equipment in support of the Limitorque Product Line Globally
- Support Test of Final Assemblies at all current global sites (5 locations)
- Enable Future Growth of the Product Line
- Support PCBA Test at Suppliers (2 locations)
- Enable Future Growth and/or Supply Chain Diversity Initiatives
- Implement Production Test Changes throughout the test fleet to support the launch of New Products, New Features, and New Options
- Enable the fulfilling of Special Customer Test Requirements
- Troubleshoot Test Failures in concert with Manufacturing Test, Quality, and Production Engineering groups
- Train & Support Manufacturing Test Engineers at Global Production sites
- Provide Technical Interface between Product Engineering & Manufacturing Test Engineers
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable Engineering field (Mechanical or Electrical with Electrical preferred)
- Demonstrated Computer Programming Skill (any language – LabVIEW preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documents (electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, technical manuals, etc.)
- Proficient with MS Office – Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point
- Excellent Written and Spoken English Communication and Interpersonal Skills – foreign language skills are a plus
