Telecommunications Technician jobs in Pennsylvania
Telecommunications Technician maintains an organization's telecommunications network to ensure dependable operation. Monitors network systems and performs diagnostic tests to document and report performance levels. Being a Telecommunications Technician conducts routine checks and preventative maintenance to minimize malfunctions and downtime. Troubleshoots telecommunication issues and performs or coordinates repairs. Additionally, Telecommunications Technician may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Telecommunications Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Telecom Technician - Experienced (Philadelphia Metro Area 5 County and occasionally other coverage areas within driving distance)

Description: Telecommunications company, is looking for experienced technicians in any of the following disciplines:
- Experienced category 5e, 6 cable installer
- Telephony, phone system service and installations Perform voice and data cable installations, troubleshoot customer equipment problems and make necessary repairs, moves, adds, and changes (MAC's). Technician with experience installing network equipment, especially helpful but not required. New store installations at retail sites such as Guess, American Eagle, etc. This includes cabling, installing registers, and other retail related communication equipment. Experience with these installs helpful but not necessary.
Requirements: *** Must have experience and valid clean driver's license *** Pay commensurate with experience .
- Please APPLY ONLY IF DEPENDABLE AND SHOW UP FOR WORK DAILY.
- Cat 5e and 6 cabling experience.
- Must be able to troubleshoot, isolate, and resolve wiring issues at customer's premises.
- T1 and circuit troubleshooting skills.
- Effective organization skills for handling paperwork, etc.
This is a service business and often requires work beyond normal business hours, if required.
Must be available for night or weekend work, which is not often but sometimes required.
- Must have own tools including, cable tester (four pair), drill, punch tool, digital camera (good cell phone camera), crimp tool, and any related telephony tools.
- Person hired cannot do side work or perform work for other telecom companies since this is a full time job.
