Telecommunications Supervisor oversees a team of specialists to support the maintenance of an organization's telecommunications system. Coordinates the installation and repairs of telecommunication equipment. Being a Telecommunications Supervisor manages and delegates work orders and assignments. Helps solve and troubleshoot complex issues to mitigate the impact on the performance of the network. Additionally, Telecommunications Supervisor identifies and implements process improvements and leads the implementation of new technologies. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor. OverviewMissouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
Missouri Baptist is the first and only hospital in St. Louis County to be named a Magnet® hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The prestigious designation is the highest credential a health care organization can receive for nursing excellence and quality patient care. This recognition has been accomplished by less than nine percent of hospitals nationwide. Additionally, U.S. News & World Report ranked the hospital #2 in the St. Louis metro area.
The�Facilities Services�Department�provides security, telecommunications, housekeeping, maintenance and engineering services for the campus.� The various departments work in partnership to�ensure the campus, including�all of�its buildings, parking lots/garages, patient care and common areas�are well maintained, clean, attractive, and secure.
Preferred QualificationsRole Purpose
Responsible for providing supervision for the Telecommunications Call Center.
Responsibilities
- Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
- Participates in the development of the departmental staffing, revenue, and/or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for adhering to those goals. This includes responding to change in business which may affect the ability to achieve budget goals.
- Manages the telecommunications database and all software support for campus-wide operator telephone systems.
- Develops and implements strategies for the telecommunications operator process to improve customer, patient and physician satisfaction.
- Assists with building an effective work team.
- Analyzes customer service information and takes corrective action.
