Telecommunications Engineering Technician jobs in West Virginia
Telecommunications Engineering Technician assists telecommunication engineers in the design and analysis of telecommunication networks. Creates plans and drawings detailing the layout of routers, circuits, cables, switches, or other telecommunications equipment. Being a Telecommunications Engineering Technician ensures network connectivity for end-users. May evaluate existing networks and recommend design changes to improve performance. Additionally, Telecommunications Engineering Technician requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Telecommunications Engineering Technician may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. The job duties will vary and include activities designed to support the installation and maintenance of communications, IT systems and broadband services for business and residence customers.
Qualified candidates will have documented experience in computer networks, computer hardware and operating systems, LAN/WAN design and operation, Routers, servers and gateways. The ability to work with fiber optic cable and LAN wiring is expected.
The qualified candidate will possess good interpersonal skills, pc skills, Office 365, Cyber Security practices, help desk, the ability to work with others, and work with minimal direction. Completion of a 2 year IT training program or 2 years of related experience is required.
The company offers a competitive compensation and benefit package. The successful candidate must live near Morgantown WV
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
