    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Maintain performance standards and pursue goals, objectives, and activities that promote the mission, vision and value statement of the College.

    • Provide a framework for developing initiatives aimed at enhancing teaching practices, curriculum design, and assessment strategies.

    • Design, coordinate, and facilitate professional development programs, workshops, and seminars to support faculty in adopting evidence-based teaching strategies, active learning techniques, and technology-enhanced instruction.

    • Provide individualized mentoring, coaching, and consultation to faculty members seeking to improve their teaching effectiveness and student engagement.

    • Support faculty with instructional design related to alignment of course learning objectives and learning activities as assessment tools and ensuring quality standards.

    • Provide training and support for new faculty onboarding.

    • Guide academic program faculty in the ongoing development of meaningful assessment and evaluation plans focused on improving student learning at the course and program level.

    • Conduct assessment trainings for faculty of academic programs and general education courses.

    • Coordinate the administration and collection of the general education assessment tool for student outcomes.

    • Serve as a non-voting member on the Curriculum Committee to ensure that course and program submissions and proposals include meaningful learning objectives, student learning outcomes, and assessment activities to include but not limited to elements of quality matters.

    • Collaborate with program faculty and/or department heads or deans in the development of meaningful program-level student learning outcomes and assessment plans for new/proposed programs.

    • Provide oversight in the collection and completion of program-level student learning outcome reports in collaboration with respective program faculty.

    • Develop and implement a process for reviewing curriculum maps for meaningful alignment of course learning objectives to program student learning outcomes and assist program faculty, where needed, to close any alignment gaps for strengthening assessment of student learning.

    • Collaborate with the Director of Institutional Research & Assessment with the coordination and implementation of comprehensive annual program reviews to include the coordination of training events for program leaders and faculty.

    • Attend annual conferences and trainings.

    • Foster, demonstrate, and actively participate in a culture of mutual respect for students, guests, and co-workers from all backgrounds, perspectives and abilities. Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and supervisors and utilize appropriate channels of communication within the college community concerning procedures and/or inquiries.

    • Attend and participate in scheduled activities, which include graduation, open house/recruiting events as assigned, convocation, and required meetings. Share ideas and information, and work toward common department and College goals.

    • Serve on college committees as a member or as chair. Serve on search committees.

    • Participate in professional development activities that enhance effectiveness (convocation, LCTCS conference, etc.).

    • Represent the college in a manner that promotes a professional and positive image.

    • Adhere to College and LCTCS policies.

    • Embrace college culture.

    • Complete all required trainings prior to deadlines (Fletcher, LCTCS, etc.).

    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Required Education: Master’s Degree in a discipline relevant to teaching and learning, such as education, instructional design, curriculum development, or a related field.


    Required Experience: Demonstrated expertise in pedagogical theory, instructional design principles, and evidence-based teaching practices.


    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and administrators. Knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in higher education, online learning, and educational research.
