Technical Trainer creates and conducts technical training programs. Determines training objectives. Being a Technical Trainer writes training programs, including outline, text, handouts, and tests, and designs laboratory exercises. Lectures on the safety, installation, programming, maintenance, and repair of software, machinery, and equipment. Additionally, Technical Trainer administers written and practical exams and writes performance reports to evaluate trainees' performance. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Technical Trainer occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Currently we have a Technical Trainer role open. As a Technical Trainer, you will research, organize, design, develop and conduct training programs for all products of the company.
Essential functions of the position include:- Instruct training sessions for distributor, customer and internal LBC personnel on all products and service related issues
- Keep up with current trends in training methods and employ best practices in each instructional session
- Interface with Engineering, Marketing, Production and Product Support to design and develop training programs
- Assist in the design and maintenance and monitor effectiveness of training programs
- Assist in creating effective and engaging training media
- Work with other departments/company personnel to provide assistance in technical areas when required. This may require field travel to distributor/customer locations
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with internal customers and distributor contact personnel
- Transport training attendees on and off site utilizing company van
- 4 year college degree preferred in Communication, Education, Technical discipline or closely related degree program
- One year of instructional experience in construction, heavy manufacturing or mechanical discipline
- Must have strong presentation and organizational skills
