    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement individualized tutoring plans to help students improve their basic math skills, with a focus on concepts applicable to construction trades, such as measurements, fractions, decimals, geometry, and algebra.
    • Assess students' math proficiency levels and identify areas of weakness or misunderstanding through diagnostic assessments and discussions.
    • Provide personalized instruction and support to address students' learning needs, utilizing a variety of teaching methods, resources, and techniques to enhance understanding and retention.
    • Create engaging and interactive learning activities, worksheets, and exercises that reinforce key math concepts and skills, making connections to real-world construction scenarios whenever possible.
    • Assist students in understanding and solving math problems commonly encountered in construction-related tasks, including calculating dimensions, estimating materials, and interpreting blueprints.
    • Monitor and track students' progress, adjusting tutoring strategies and interventions as needed to promote continuous improvement and academic success.
    • Communicate regularly with students, parents, teachers, and school administrators to provide updates on student progress, areas of improvement, and strategies for ongoing support.
    • Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, student attendance, and academic performance, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations.
    • Stay informed about best practices in math education, instructional strategies, and resources relevant to construction math tutoring.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
    • Strong foundation in basic math concepts, including arithmetic, fractions, decimals, percentages, geometry, and algebra.
    • Previous tutoring or teaching experience working with high school students preferred, particularly in mathematics or related subjects.
    • Knowledge of construction-related math concepts and applications is highly desirable.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and create a supportive learning environment.
    • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed academically.
    • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students.
    • Proficiency in using educational technology and online resources for tutoring sessions.
    • Commitment to upholding professional standards of ethics, integrity, and confidentiality in all interactions with students and stakeholders.
