The Role: 

We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Corporate Sustainability Manager to join our team in Sydney CBD. In this role, you will manage the delivery of the Sims Limited sustainability strategy and plan to support the group in achieving its sustainability objectives, partnering with the business as a trusted advisor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with the business as a trusted advisor and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Act as a subject matter expert relating to Environment, Social and Corporate governance
• Undertake analysis of sustainability data to identify key insights and trends recommending initiatives to drive improvement in ESG ratings
• Manage group level reporting systems, data collection and review for relevant reporting
• Lead the preparation of Sims Limited voluntary disclosures and other mandatory reporting requirements such as, Climate Report, National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGERS) and annual sustainability report
• Lead and manage decarbonisation projects and other sustainability initiatives across the organisation
• Monitor and report on the progress of sustainability programs, ensuring they meet established targets and timelines

About you:

• Strong communication both written and verbal and are comfortable to engage with stakeholders at all levels. 
• A passion for sustainability with the ability to partner with the business to provide pragmatic solutions.
• Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline such as Sustainability, Engineering, Finance, Environment, Law
• Extensive experience in corporate sustainability with a listed company (ASX or other market)
• Proven experience in contributing to the development and execution of an ESG strategy, plans and supporting processes, systems, governance structures and associated performance measurement
• Production of board level presentations and public reports such as a Sustainability Report
• Analytical skills and ability to manage large sets of data
• Experience in managing energy efficiency, renewable energy, and carbon reduction initiatives is highly valued
• Project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within set timelines.
