Surface Mount Tech Machine Operator is responsible for both automated and manual surface mount manufacturing. Responsible for set-up, operation, and adjustment of SMT equipment. Being a Surface Mount Tech Machine Operator monitors and maintains equipment to meet company standards. May be responsible for quality assurance and documentation. Additionally, Surface Mount Tech Machine Operator requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Surface Mount Tech Machine Operator may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Rotation schedule will be 2 weeks on-site with 2 weeks off-site
Responsibilities:
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Maintain proficiency in the operation of Trash Truck, Bus, 966 Forklift, Bull Fork, Tractor/Trailer, Telescoping Forklift, 1T 38 Tool Handler Forklift, 966 Loader, Bull 45T Forklift, Tractor/Broom, Aircraft Deicing Truck, 966 Push Blade, Dump Truck w/sander 20’ plow blade/belly blade snow blowers, both 966 attachments, Road Grader, Dozer, Tractor w belly dump/water tanker/high deck trailer/20T tilt trailer, Tractor Tanker and Plow Truck
- Responsible for completing basic paperwork such as timesheets and walk around inspection forms and condition of equipment reports
- Demonstrate the ability to follow instructions and have the willingness to learn and advance through the Surface Operators progression
- Communicate effectively with other operators, colleague and supervisor about assigned tasks and ensuring carryover and updates of completed tasks throughout the shift
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of environmental risks and hazards as well as complies with safety policies and procedures (MSHA and Red Dog EMS training) and ensures daily workplace inspections are done in order to accurately identify and correct workplace hazards
- Ensures compliance with all established policies and standard operating procedures and advises coworkers and visitors of such policies and procedures as required
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years’ equipment operating experience
- Must have a Commercial Driver License
- Must be able to lift objects weighing 50 lbs on a regular basis.
- Prior mining or similar experience is preferred.
- Strong team cooperation is required.
- Ability to perform tasks with limited direction.
- Must work safely and follow instructions.
- Must be willing to work outdoors with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions
- A desire to advance to higher levels in the competency development system by training and becoming proficient at specific tasks and duties in the Surface Operations department
