Supply Chain Manager manages the flow of goods, resources, and information required by the supply chain to ensure that critical processes run effectively and achieve organizational goals and performance KPIs.   • On behalf of our customer, a leading provider of temporary fencing throughout the Midwest, South, and Eastern Seaboard for over 30 years, SCRG is seeking a highly skilled safety and compliance manager to lead our customers focus in Health, Environmental, and Safety throughout their organization.

    As a Safety and Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for creating and implementing safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of our employees, customers, and the public. Your primary objective will be to maintain a safe working environment and promote a safety culture throughout the organization.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits at our 13 branches to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and recommend corrective actions.
    • Collaborate with management and employees to establish and maintain a safety committee, ensuring open lines of communication for safety-related matters.
    • Provide safety training and orientation to new employees, ensuring they are aware of safety protocols and procedures.
    • Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safe work practices.
    • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, documenting findings and implementing measures to prevent future occurrences. Management of insurance claims, incident reports, near misses.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continuously improve the company's safety program.
    • Liaise with external regulatory agencies and participate in safety audits and inspections.
    • Foster a positive safety culture by promoting awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement.


    Qualifications:

    • Proven experience as a Safety Manager or similar role, preferably in a construction or industrial setting.
    • In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and best practices. Experience with writing policies and procedures for health and safety.
    • Strong understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment, and control measures.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and educate employees on safety practices.
    • Ability to navigate challenging conversations effectively and respectfully when corrective action may need to be taken.
    • Detail-oriented, analytical & problem-solving mindset to identify potential safety issues and propose effective solutions.
    • Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (OSHA) is highly desirable.

    • Review, refine and standardize our customer's Safety Program by 9/1/24.
    • Design our customer's Safety Training Program by 9/1/24 and conduct Quarterly training classes (online, virtually and/or on-site).

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Must be able to make crucial, unsupervised decisions while performing safety, compliance and quality functions.
    • Must be able to efficiently interact with multiple contacts on a daily basis; and be able to work independently.
    • Must have a high degree of integrity and honesty due to close interaction with safety issues.
    • Must have the ability and understanding to effectively using and developing a safety database and written protocols and standards.


    Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

    • Must have a High School Diploma, 2 yrs. Higher Education Completion and 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
    • Must have knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems.
    • Must have intermediate computer and keyboard skills.
    • Must be proficient in Excel and Word.


    Work Environment:

    • Regularly works in standard office and field environment (warehouse and installation job-sites). Occasionally is required to enter work areas with moving equipment, machinery and parts. Noise level is normal.
    • Domestic travel is required.
