Structural Engineer designs load-bearing structures or structural elements, such as buildings, bridges, or roadways. Performs analysis of building materials for use in construction. Being a Structural Engineer develops blueprints or specifications for use during construction and ensures all projects comply with applicable codes and regulations. Determines cause of structural failures, damages, and defects through site investigations. Additionally, Structural Engineer provides reports detailing investigations and assessment of damages to the structure. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Structural Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed.     Position Description:

    Provide project management, construction management, programming, and engineering support services for the government client at Joint Base Anacostia Bolling (JBAB), located in Washington, DC.

    Services and deliverables include scoping and concept documents preparation, studies, meetings, presentations, analyses, evaluations, and engineering and technical expertise including site evaluation, quality assurance, and plan review.
     

    Minimum Qualification:

    • Must be a US Citizen
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
    • Three (3) or more years of experience developing plans, solutions, and structural designs for facility and infrastructure projects

     

    Required Skills:

    • Ability to plan, organize, and lead others in studies, designs, and construction projects, record and manage the processes and documentation, and to negotiate effectively with management to accept and implement recommendations, where proposals involve substantial resources and require extensive changes in established concepts and procedures.
    • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; negotiate complex issues; and maintain good working relationships.
    • Experience working with Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint, AutoCAD, Cost Estimating Software. Specific capabilities must include word processing, spreadsheet, database, and graphics.
    • Proficient in commonly used engineering software programs. Able to develop, maintain, and utilize databases as decision-making tools and in concert with geographical interface systems (GIS) as appropriate.
    • Experience using NexGen IT/TRIRIGA. Ability to input, prepare monthly execution and percent design reports inputs to support the preparation of monthly execution and percent design reports

     

    Desired Skills:

    • Experience with projects involving the United States Military or federal government
