Strategic Planning Director directs and oversees an organization's strategic and long-range goal planning function. Drives strategic initiatives and supports the development of long-term growth plans and profitability goals. Being a Strategic Planning Director analyzes emerging industry trends, expansion opportunities, including mergers and acquisitions, competitive threats, the viability of outside business partners, and sources of capital. Establishes and retains relationships with industry analysts and the investment community. Additionally, Strategic Planning Director utilizes data-driven methodologies to analyze business performance metrics and process improvement options effectively. Develops reporting and tools to communicate strategic plans and concepts to leadership. Conducts periodic status reviews of organizational goals and objectives to identify roadblocks to progress. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Strategic Planning Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Strategic Planning Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     The opportunity

    Position is a member of the UCHealth Strategy and Planning team. Position leads and supports system-wide and regional-level strategy and planning activities. Position is based in Aurora, Colorado on the Anschutz Medical Campus with the option to work in a remote setting one day per week.

    Reports to: Director, Strategy and Planning, UCHealth

    Essential job duties

    1.Independently leads strategic planning efforts for service lines or regional facilities in alignment with UCHealth's strategy.

    2.Accurately understands the issues a stakeholder has identified (as well as underlying issues) and identifies the appropriateapproach and solution to meet stakeholder and system needs.

    3.Leads, manages and supports direct reports which includes the assignment and management of tasks and timelines, as well as the development ofanalysts' skills and capabilities.

    4.Serves as the primary project liaison to select stakeholders across the organization.

    5.Independently prepares and directs market assessments by developing a list of key components to support business purpose, preparing competitor analyses and conducting data analyses and market research.

    6.Leverages quantitative and qualitative data and industry research to support business needs and compiles relevant information into executive-level summaries and presentations with strategic observations and actionable insights.

    7.Advances the analytical capability of the team by creating complex models and/or data visualizations

    8.Serves as a subject matter expert on competitive landscape, industry trends and strategic planning frameworks and best practices.

    Education and certification
    • Minimum required education: Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred
    • Minimum experience: Five years of relevant experience
    • Experience in health care strategy, strategy consulting or corporate development preferred

    The pay range for this position is: $108.846.40 - $174,158.40 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
