Strategic Planning Analyst assists in the development of long-term goals and strategic objectives for an organization. Identifies, analyzes, and monitors issues that affect profitability, growth, and productivity. Being a Strategic Planning Analyst may be responsible for external corporate communications with industry analysts and the investment community. May also be responsible for recommending strategic alternatives and developing and maintaining operational plans. Additionally, Strategic Planning Analyst requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to project leader or manager. The Strategic Planning Analyst works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. Provides analytical support including research, data collection, quantitative and qualitative analysis, presentation and report formulation and production. Manages Planning Department data resources and databases for internal planning uses and for required external reporting. Interprets data based on industry knowledge, and converts data into information for management decision-making. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education: Bachelor's degree required with a minimum of 4 years of work experience in a similar role. Master's Degree in Business or Healthcare Administration preferred.

License/Certifications: N/A

Experience: See "Education." Significant experience supporting the development of environmental, competitive and other strategic studies, including the analysis of assumptions and the interpretation of data results. Experience in working with large clinical and/or administrative databases, including both management and analysis. Capable of searching and critically appraising medical literature.

Expert use of spreadsheet, graphics, mapping applications and database software with the ability to integrate elements. Ability to learn new software or other data tools independently, as needed.

Intermediate to advanced proficiency in SAS (Statistical Analysis Software) or STATA required, and some knowledge of SPSS (Statistical Package of Social Sciences) helpful, spreadsheet, relational database, graphics and word processing software is required. Skills with additional statistical software packages are desirable.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills and high attention to detail with the demonstrated ability to produce high-quality output that is complete, accurate and suitable for distribution to high-level audiences.

Ability to clearly, concisely, and accurately communicate complex data in both written and oral form. Written analyses to include summary of data and strategic recommendations.

Capacity for high production output and management of multiple projects and shifting deadlines. The ability to prioritize multiple tasks and to meet deadlines is essential.

Familiarity with key issues in healthcare, with the ability to relate their impact to the organization. Ability to work and interact with multiple departments.
