Stationary Engineer jobs in Ohio

Stationary Engineer operates, repairs, and maintains stationary equipment including boilers, generators, refrigeration, and turbines in buildings, plants or industrial facilities. Ensures that equipment is operating safely and within established limits. Being a Stationary Engineer conducts monitoring and failure analysis of meters, gauges and controls to determine the need for repair or replacement of parts. Performs preventative maintenance and documents completed procedures. Additionally, Stationary Engineer requires a high school diploma. Requires applicable Stationary Engineer's license for the state. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Stationary Engineer works under moderate supervision.     Knowledge of powerhouse safety practices; stationary engineering. Skill in operating powerhouse equipment to include coal &/or fuel & ash/waste handling equipment; operating frontend loader. Ability to recognize unusual or threatening conditions & take appropriate emergency action; understand powerhouse procedures; calculate fractions, decimals & percentages; maintain accurate records; use limbs, fingers & hands to operate equipment, machinery or tools; walk, stand or bend for long periods of time; lift up to 80 pounds.
