Staff Nurse - RN - Surgical First Assistant jobs in Mississippi
Staff Nurse - RN - Surgical First Assistant provides direct patient care to surgical patients throughout the perioperative period. Assists surgeon during surgical procedures by positioning skin preparation, providing wound exposure, performing tissue dissection, suturing, and other surgical tasks. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Surgical First Assistant administers medications and IV treatments as necessary. Participates in discharge planning and counsels patients and caregivers on appropriate post-operative care. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Surgical First Assistant requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR). Requires Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA). Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Staff Nurse - RN - Surgical First Assistant's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Requirements:
- Candidates must have a Mississippi license or compact license prior to placement start.
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles away from this facility in order to be eligible to apply for this role.
- COVID vaccination required for onboarding. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
- Flu vaccination required for onboarding. Medical declinations accepted.

Additional Information:
Shift: 0630 -1500 Monday-Friday
40 hours per week.
Length of assignment: 13 or 26 weeks with opportunity to extend.
