Staff Nurse - RN - Flight Transport jobs in Mississippi
Staff Nurse - RN - Flight Transport provides professional nursing care to critically injured or ill patients throughout all phases of emergency ground and air transportation. Evaluates and treats patients prior to and during transport, ensuring patient safety and implementing life support measures as needed. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Flight Transport monitors patient condition, documents nursing care, and reports patient status to clinical staff at receiving medical facility. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Flight Transport typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Typically requires Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. May require Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN) certification. Requires a valid state RN license. Staff Nurse - RN - Flight Transport's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. **Patient Care:** A practitioner responsible for providing emergency care in a prompt, resourceful and efficient manner to all patients transported via aeromedical services. Must be able to assess, intervene, organize, direct and evaluate patients condition in conjunction with the flight paramedic/flight nurse. **Education:** Provides patient/family education and also acts as a resource for hospital staff and pre-hospital providers of emergency medicine/management **Communication:** Maintains communication with multi-disciplinary team members through a variety of channels to provide care to the patient. **Customer Relations:** As a highly visible member of the hospital, the staff flight nurse will project the caring, friendly, and servant image of NMHS to employees, other hospital/pre-hospital workers, and the community. **Self Development:** The flight nurse will maintain competency by staying informed of changing trends in the nursing practice. **Regulatory Knowledge:** Complies with regulatory and accrediting agency requirements.Requirements:
