To learn more visit becu.org/careers. PAY RANGE The Target Pay Range for this position is $188,700.00-$230,800.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $146,900.00 - $272,700.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role. Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE: As the Director of Software Engineering Delivery at BECU, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the enterprise software programming activities. Your input will drive policy level direction regarding standards, budget constraints, and more. You will lead the charge in developing standards for all software system applications, provide technical guidance to the Engineering staff, and ensure that budget goals and objectives are met. WHAT YOU’LL DO: Provide Ongoing Support and Development: Coach, mentor, and train employees to enhance their performance and meet with staff regularly for performance reviews. Own Application Lifecycle and Technical Roadmap: Take charge of the application lifecycle, manage the engineering team, and oversee the implementation of the technical roadmap across teams. Collaborate with Key Stakeholders: Work closely with key stakeholders to define the product roadmap, optimize delivery features and functionality, and ensure successful outcomes. Select and Implement Development Processes: Choose and implement development processes and tools to manage and measure end-to-end development and delivery processes. Ensure Optimized Development velocity: Drive optimized development velocity while minimizing defects and rework, and provide transparent delivery schedules and milestone achievements to the business. Continually Evaluate and Improve: Continuously evaluate, improve, and optimize the product development process to drive efficiency and quality. Lead Engineering Teams: Lead teams to build reusable code and libraries, ensure coding best practices are followed, and deliver top-quality software performance and scalability requirements. Stay Informed and Engage with Leadership: Track industry trends and new technologies, advise leadership on opportunities to improve quality and create competitive advantages, and engage with senior management to report and escalate issues. Minimum seven years of experience leading software engineering teams required. Minimum eight years of functional experience required (Financial Products i.e. Mortgage, Loan, Credit Card, etc. domain experience). Proven work experience as an engineer required. Desired Qualifications: Advanced degree preferred. Experience with third-party solutions preferred. In-depth understanding of and experience managing the entire development process (design, development, and deployment) preferred. Experience in integrating with 3rd party APIs & SDKs and working with partners preferred. Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and product management to understand requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs preferred. Delivery experience working under an Agile/Scrum methodology preferred. Working experience of software engineering best practices including coding standards, code reviews, SCM, CI, build processes, testing, and operations preferred. Track record of building high-performing, self-sufficient teams and delivering results in a fast-paced, quick-changing environment preferred.
