Shipping Operations Manager manages shipping operations' daily activities, including order processing, inventory tracking, documentation, and transportation oversight. Utilizes enterprise resource planning (ERP) or other systems to record and track all shipping transactions, analyze performance metrics, and generate reports. Being a Shipping Operations Manager ensures shipping protocols and documentation meet required regulatory requirements for hazardous materials (DOT/HAZMAT) or special handling. Investigates and resolves shipping quality issues, damages, or lost freight claims. Additionally, Shipping Operations Manager develops and maintains relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and vendors. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Shipping Operations Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Shipping Operations Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. We are looking for a Restaurant Assistant Manager to ensure all daily activities run efficiently and smoothly. Restaurant Assistant Manager responsibilities include ordering kitchen utensils and equipment based on our needs, managing contracts, and payroll, and supervising restaurant staff performance. To be successful in this role you should be familiar with restaurant operations and have a good understanding of what makes great customer service. Ultimately you will help optimize operating costs, boost our employee retention, and deliver a positive dining experience for our guests.
Requirements- Coordinate communication between front-of-the-house and back-of-the-house staff
- Follow all company procedures
- Ensure a clean, sanitized, and safe work area at all times
- Prepare shift schedules
- Supervise kitchen and wait staff and provide assistance, as needed
- Keep detailed records of daily, weekly, and monthly costs and revenues
- Arrange for new employees’ proper onboarding (scheduling training and ordering uniforms)
- Monitor compliance with safety and hygiene regulations
- Gather guests’ feedback and recommend improvements to the experience of our menu as a Restaurant Assistant Manager or similar role in the hospitality industry
- Familiarities with restaurant software, like OpenTable and PeachWorks
- Good math and reporting skills
- Customer service attitude
- Communication and team management abilities
- Availability to work within opening hours (e.g. evenings, holidays, weekends)
- High school diploma; additional certification in hospitality is a plus
