Monitors security systems and responds to alarms, reports of issues, or requests for assistance. Being a Security Guard - Unarmed patrols an assigned location. Follows required gate-keeping procedures such as verifying visitor credentials, conducting inspections, or preparing paperwork. Additionally, Security Guard - Unarmed may operate an access control or identity system to control building access. Completes shift activity logs and inputs to systems. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. May require a Security Guard License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Security Guard - Unarmed works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. - Use provided communication devices, such as two-way radios, in a clear and concise manner to report incidents promptly.
- Alert the appropriate personnel or authorities in the event of suspicious or criminal activities.
- Follow all security protocols and procedures established by the company to ensure the safety of the premises.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance while on duty.
- Prevent illegal or inappropriate actions by maintaining a high-visibility presence.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid D-License.
- Minimum of 1 year of security experience.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Prior security or law enforcement experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and respond quickly in emergency situations.
- Physical fitness and the ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods.
- Must have a mode of reliable transportation.
- This is an on-call position only.
- Compensation: $20 per hour for unarmed positions, $30 per hour for armed positions, applicable nationwide.
