Security Guard - Armed provides security and guards buildings, grounds, materials, work sites, or other venues. Monitors security systems and responds to alarms, reports of issues, or requests for assistance. Being a Security Guard - Armed patrols an assigned location. Follows required gate-keeping procedures such as verifying visitor credentials, conducting inspections, or preparing paperwork. Additionally, Security Guard - Armed may operate an access control or identity system to control building access. Completes shift activity logs and inputs to systems. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically requires Firearms Certification. May require a Security Guard License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Security Guard - Armed works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Federal Security Officer duties include patrols, access control, CCTV Monitor, report writing, key control and screening.
To be eligible to perform duties under this contract, a PSO shall meet the following general qualifications:
possesses a verifiable honorable discharge from, any component of the
United States Armed Forces (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Coast
Guard)
Experience
of law enforcement experience in a full-duty status with a full service
police department in a municipality, state, or federal law
enforcement department within the US, and have resigned or
retired in good standing; or
of any US Armed Forces (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Coast
Guard) component; or
Education
Equivalency Diploma (GED) from an accredited institution of
higher learning, or as identified on DD Form 214. (Note: High
School Diplomas from countries outside of the United States
