Risk Manager manages and administers an organization's risk-management programs. Implements policies, procedures, and controls to monitor and minimize the risk exposure of assets. Being a Risk Manager researches internal and external risk factors including economic, market, and regulatory risks that may affect the organization. Routinely evaluates the effectiveness of procedures and collaborates with internal stakeholders to monitor changes in the business environment. Additionally, Risk Manager manages statistical analysis and designing of financial models to predict the risk exposure of an organization's assets. Reviews risk analysis reports to ensure risks are identified and managed effectively. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Risk Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Risk Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     This position is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with commercial lines accounts. Account Managers work independently to advise and service client accounts.


    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients through advising and responding to all correspondence in a quick and accurate manner. Includes answering questions regarding all lines of coverage, and assisting with plan and/or carrier changes, claims, and billing.
    • Collaborate with risk advisors to determine and meet client goals.
    • Support risk advisors by exercising independent judgement and discretion to: 
      • Analyze markets for competitive pricing and develop insurance solutions for current clients,
      • Analyze quotes from carriers for accuracy,
      • Evaluate and prepare renewal comparisons and policy proposals, 
      • Present proposals as needed, 
      • Communicate and educate clients on policies as needed, 
      • Evaluate and process client requests to ensure appropriate coverage is met,
      • Resolve inquiries on service problems, billing and claims to ensure client satisfaction, and
      • Receive and process new business, renewals, and cancellations.
    • Schedule and participate in client meetings as necessary.
    • Develop and maintain positive and effective relationships with partner insurance carriers.
    • Promote value-added services available through North Risk Partners (i.e., professional consulting, webinars/seminars, communications, Zywave tools, and more).
    • Refer business across all departments (i.e., property and casualty, employee benefits, and personal lines).
    • Attend and actively participate in agency service training meetings.
    • Enter activity and other relevant information into the company’s software system(s) in accordance with company procedures.
    • Follow all federal and state regulations, and best practices for avoiding errors and omissions. 
    • Continue professional development; pursue and maintain professional designations if applicable.
    • Travel as necessary for client meetings.

    Requirements


    Education, Experience, and Certifications 

    • High school degree or equivalent is required. 
    • Bachelor's degree is preferred, but not required. 
    • Previous 3-5 years of commercial lines insurance experience is preferred.
    • Active property & casualty insurance license.
