    Job Description

    • Contract reviews for all Group Sectors of Continental in North America – working closely with internal and external attorneys, purchasing, marketing, sales, and real estate departments to:
      • Identify, assess, mitigate, and transfer risk by requiring certain insurance provisions and endorsements in our contracts.
        • Ensure our compliance with contract’s insurance requirements through researching insurance policies’ terms and conditions and coverage exclusions.
        • Educate internal customers on the different types of insurance coverages Continental has in place as limits, deductibles, exclusions, self-insurance, etc. and inform about potential risks and the financial impact of certain business decisions.
        • Insert additional insurance requirements into our contracts with vendors and suppliers, depending on the goods and services being procured
        • Review and approval of contracts in the Contract Approval Tool on behalf of the Risk Management department.
        • Prepare Amendments for insurance-related services and input those contracts/amendments into the Contract Approval Tool to obtain all necessary approvals and Officer signatures.
    • Analyze risk relevant key figures.
      • Collect risk and insurance related qualitative and quantitative data from within and outside the Continental organization.
      • Process the data to support an efficient decision-making process in the Risk Management department.
    • Prepare, review and process documents.
      • Process all outgoing Certificate of Insurance requests with partners as insurance broker.
      • Review incoming insurance certificates against contract requirements to ensure compliance with legal documents.
      • Maintain master list of insurance policies for all Group Sectors.
    • Manage claims and support litigation processes.
      • Work closely with Third Party Administrator and Continental Legal department on automobile liability claims and lawsuits, including coordinating the reserve balance for settlement of auto claims.
      • Manage, negotiate, and settle certain General Liability claims which fall below our deductible.
      • Work closely with our insurance broker and insurance carrier to manage and process Transport and Cargo insurance claims.
      • Process all Business Travel and Visa Insurance Letter requests for international travelers.
    • Support the underwriting process for various lines of insurance through collecting relevant information from internal stakeholders.
      • Administer the data collection process and organization of supportive documents.
      • Maintain and organize the underwriting relevant data, coordinate questions from underwriting teams and record decisions.

    Qualifications

    Basic:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, risk, legal studies, finance or similar
    • 2 years of related professional Risk experience
    • Good understanding of contractual concepts
    • Strong knowledge of insurance principles
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work independent and as part of a team
    • Excellent research, analytical and problem solving skills
    • High level of attention to details
    • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Continental is only able to offer visa support for internals individuals who currently hold an existing valid employment visa
    • Relocation can not be offered for this opportunity

    Preferred:

    • Certified Paralegal qualification
    • Risk Management certification
    • Strong understanding of risk management principles and legal concepts
    • 5 years of professional Risk experience
