Right of Way Manager jobs in Minnesota

Right of Way Manager oversees the organization's operations and activities regarding the need for additional land or office space. Researches, negotiates and elects to purchase short- and long-term lease of land agreements and right of way for construction that meet the organization's goals. Being a Right of Way Manager oversees all land related legal issues, including transfers of titles and deeds, construction, mortgage concerns, and zoning. Makes resolutions and other legal forms related to land acquisitions. Additionally, Right of Way Manager may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Right of Way Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. Right of Way Engineering Specialist

  • This position will assist the Metro Division Assistant Right of Way Manager, Project Managers, and staff by performing and leading the preparation of the necessary products, services, schedules, etc. necessary to process right of way acquisition for Metro District Program Delivery. This includes the following responsibilities:

    • Works with Right of Way Manager to ensure all of the project issues are addressed and responsibilities are defined so that the Right of Way package is developed in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Provide and assist in the coordination of training and direction for technicians so that they have the skills and resources to perform their responsibilities and meet their defined expectations.
    • Support external partners such that their construction plans and plats are reviewed and questions pertaining to MnDOT R/W are answered.


    Minimum Qualifications

    Three (3) years of para-engineering experience that demonstrates:

    • Experience working with the right of way process and products (e.g. Right of Way Work map, Right of Way Authorization map, parcel sketch, plats, descriptions and commissioner’s orders) as they pertain to the acquisition of land for construction projects.
    • Knowledge of highway design and construction practices sufficient to interpret plans and procedures and apply that to the development of right of way products.
    • Experience using Open Roads Designer, Microstation, AutoCAD or related sufficient to develop Right of Way products.
    • Ability to interpret statutes, mapping, documents and descriptions sufficient to apply to the right of way process.
