Being a Right of Way Agent handles all land related legal issues, including transfers of titles and deeds, construction, mortgage concerns, and zoning. Prepares resolutions and other legal forms related to land acquisitions. Additionally, Right of Way Agent may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Right of Way Agent contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.   • ORC is seeking an on-call non-exempt Utilities Right of Way Agent to remotely work on projects in Washington and Oregon. This position is great for someone looking for a revised work schedule. ORC does not guarantee a set number of hours, instead it's driven by project needs. The selected candidate must live in the Mountain or Pacific time zones and will work remotely out of their home office.

    What you will be doing:
    As a Right of Way Agent, you will acquire right of way rights per project guidelines and regulations, for Solar and Battery Storage projects in support of the Project Manager (PM), or members of the project team. Duties include preparing real estate documents, performing basic property research for ownership and boundary information, and communicating with property owners and their representatives for the acquisition of right of way. You will be responsible for performing general administrative work including but not limited to preparing legal documents, reports and correspondence, attending meetings, entering and retrieving computer data, copying and filing documents for file management, verbal and written communications with customers, customer service and related functions.

    Here are the minimum requirements:

    • Minimum of three (3) years of Right of Way acquisition experience
    • Must be proficient with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook
    • Must have an iOS or Android smartphone to be able to access ORC's systems
    • Valid Driver’s License

    Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to clearly communicate and exchange information in person, via phone and email. Substantial repetitive movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers due to high computer usage and typing. Expected to spend long spans of time in front of a computer screen. Able to read, understand and interpret department related documents and data. The employee is required to move about inside the office to access files, office equipment and to interact with other members of the staff. This role requires the employee to occasionally travel to meet with clients or vendors which involves time driving; sometimes for long durations. While meeting with clients and vendors, will need to be outdoors traversing different types of landscapes. May be exposed to the elements (heat, rain, snow, cold).
