Residential Care Medical Director plans and directs all aspects of clinical care at an assisted living or skilled nursing facility. Ensures that clinical programs operate in compliance with all applicable regulations. Being a Residential Care Medical Director provides patient consultations as needed and manages relationships between staff and attending physicians. Advises non-medical management on clinical and patient related matters and policies. Additionally, Residential Care Medical Director requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a state license to practice medicine. Typically reports to top management. The Residential Care Medical Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Residential Care Medical Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. The job includes helping people with daily care, community activities, doctor appointments, medications, food preparation, grocery shopping, cleaning their houses/apartments, personal hygiene including grooming, toothbrushing, appropriate clothing selections, hair care, etc.. Will need to provide accurate & thorough documentation on daily logs and forms with regard to each individual served according to their individual program plan.
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and be able to read, write and speak English.
Experience is always a plus BUT we do train . Requirements will include: Passing a background screening, obtaining a TB test (Tuberculosis screening), adequate driving record (MVR), current auto insurance, Current food handlers permit, CPR and First Aid- We provide this training once hired .
