Description
The Woods Lab in the Center for Pulmonary Imaging Research (CPIR) is hiring a Research Fellow in MR imaging research. Selected candidates will work with a well-funded and collaborative, multidisciplinary team of faculty and staff with backgrounds in basic science, pulmonology, and radiology. We emphasize novel, quantitative techniques, mostly with hyperpolarized 129Xe and ultra-short echo-time (UTE) MRI in translational studies in human subjects, in addition to clinical trials in both children and adults.
Research focuses include novel hyperpolarized-gas techniques and imaging strategies, machine learning for automated image scoring, and regional structure-function relationships in a variety of pediatric and adult lung diseases. Research-dedicated instrumentation includes 3 whole-body MRI scanners and a 7T Bruker preclinical scanner, in addition to a unique neonatal MRI scanner and three 129Xe hyperpolarizers. Our infrastructure includes a world-class engineering laboratory, capable of designing and fabricating a wide range of RF coils and related MR hardware.
