POSITION OVERVIEW

The Reinsurance Platform Product Manager will be responsible for leading the Reinsurance transaction booking and accounting system to further automate Global Atlantic’s Reinsurance processes.  The role will collaborate across multiple teams within Institutional Markets and Finance teams to understand current processes and redesign in a scalable manner. This position will be actively involved in identifying features and accountable for the delivery of those features.

This is a challenging and critical role within the organization, and a successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our Reinsurance & Institutional Markets operations and reporting.

Key responsibilities will include the following:

• Collaborate with Institutional Markets and technology teams to identify and prioritize technology features.
• Analyze Reinsurance processes, including Bermuda and sidecar entities, and identify opportunities for improvements using technology.
• Create & maintain application and reporting requirements to ensure appropriate documentation exists.
• Manage the delivery of technology features.
• Provide training to new and existing users on current and future functionality.
• Manage day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple projects or requests.

EDUCATION

• An undergraduate degree in an IT related field or similar combination or education and experience.

SKILLS

• Strong understanding of Fixed Income products across multiple asset classes.
• Ability to quickly understand business processes and find common patterns across processes.
• Project Management skills will be essential for the delivery aspect of the role, along with the ability to estimate work to assess resourcing needs and timelines.
• Experience eliciting requirements from business users.
• Demonstrates excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Work cross-functionally across different areas of the firm
• Self-motivated, resourceful, with independent working habits.

EXPERIENCE

• 5 years’ experience within Financial Markets including experience with Fixed Income products.
• 5 years’ experience managing projects using Agile principles.
• 3 years’ experience working on a transaction booking/trading system, with structured/esoteric product experience desired.
• 2 years in a Product Management role, or similar role.
• Desirable, but not mandatory
  • General understanding of Life and Annuity products.
  • Experience with Business Process Model and Notation (BMPN)
  • Experience in the following technologies – Relational Databases, Redshift, MS Excel
  • Experience with a Mendix or similar low-code platform
