Being a Rehabilitation Director develops and implements policies and procedures pertaining to staffing and the budget for the department. Maintains working relationships with community agencies. Additionally, Rehabilitation Director monitors treatment and progress of patients. May require an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Rehabilitation Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. The Director of Outpatient Neuro Rehabilitation is responsible for the overall management of outpatient neurological services throughout the hospital network. The Director is responsible for direct patient care duties 75-90% of schedule with a focus to the neurological patient. The Director is responsible for the growth and development of the neuro therapy program. The Director is responsible for assisting with marketing strategies in conjunction with the Sr. Director of Outpatient Programming, Business Development and Strategic Planning. The Director is responsible for physician relationship management as it relates to the OP neuro program. The Director will facilitate program-wide discipline-specific education to promote personal and professional growth within the OP neuro team and ensure care is being delivered in a manner consistent with best practices. The Director shall also coordinate staffing to ensure adequate provision of neurological services to referred patients and will provide coverage on an as needed basis.
