Recreation Coordinator (Intramurals) jobs in New Jersey

Join our team at our vibrant Neighborhood House to plan, manage, and oversee multiple recreational activities including basketball, soccer, open gym and general athletic clinics for children and youth. The Recreation Manager may also organize social sporting outings when available. The Recreation Manager is responsible for building up our athletic programs and reputation.

• Ability to plan and implement quality programs for children and youth
• Create a process to measure player progression and skill
• Manage the process of program fee collection for all recreational activities
• Complete quarterly reports and county funding applications and maintain documentation for annual monitoring audits
• Coordinate necessary paperwork for leagues and travel teams
• Engage community in recreation activities and promote community participation
• Work with and coordinate volunteer coaches, referees, timekeepers, and other necessary supports
• Coordinate with local parks and recreation departments to reserve fields and applications for permits if necessary
• Plan and run clinics for afterschool students when necessary
• Prepare all practice and game schedules for distribution
• Maintain appropriate sign-up sheets, eligibility documentation, monthly calendars
• Create a data base of player contact information and communicate effectively with parents and community stakeholders
• Provide feedback on grant opportunities and execute and report on all grant related activities

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Hire all coaches, referees and volunteers to help run the program

• Provide training, assigning and supervision to all departmental staff and recreational volunteers
• Assure professionalism and sportsmanship is displayed among all program representatives

Qualifications

• BA in a related field a plus
• Must be able to work evening and weekend hours
• Must have use of a personal car
• Minimum of 5 years coaching experience
• Bi-lingual a plus
