Radiology Director directs and coordinates activities of a radiology or diagnostic imaging department in a hospital or other medical facility. Reviews work schedules and assigns duties to workers to maintain patient flow and achieve production goals. Being a Radiology Director oversees staff in operation of imaging equipment, such as x-ray machine, fluoroscope, CT scanner, or MRI equipment. Evaluates accuracy and quality of images and provides technical assistance to staff. Additionally, Radiology Director demonstrates new techniques, equipment, and procedures to staff. Implements and monitors radiation safety measures to ensure safety of patients and staff and compliance with regulatory requirements. Develops and implements plans, policies, and procedures regarding operations and staffing and, the purchasing of radiology supplies. May require an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Radiology Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Radiology Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     As our Radiographer at CHI Oakes Hospital, you will help capture usable diagnostic images from patients so the Radiologist can accurately diagnose and/or rule out different conditions.

    Every day you could perform any variety of imaging examinations such as x-rays, CT/CAT scans, and some diagnostic fluoroscopy, to name a few. You will also need to enjoy working directly with people as you play a huge role in the patient experience.

    To be successful in this role, you’ll need to fully understand the importance of diagnostic imaging. This includes knowledge of the general imaging workflow, various patient positioning techniques, and capturing precise results for timely and accurate diagnosis.

    This is a casual as needed position.

    Responsibilities

    • Efficient interpretation of clinical information from clinical team meeting radiology needs of patients
    • Thorough and accurate imaging technique for patient positioning respective to the order
    • Hyper-sensitivity in monitoring radiation exposure time and activity
    • Routinely apply sterile techniques and quality safety practices for patients, teammates, and yourself.
    • Mechanical aptitude and confidence troubleshooting, calibrating, and maintaining radiology equipment to avoid equipment failures.


    Qualifications

    • Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
    • ARRT registry eligible or registered with the ARRT.
    • Licensed through North Dakota (ND) Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board (MIRT)
    • Basic Life Support by American Heart Assocation.


    Preferred Qualification:

    • Radiology experience preferred
